Giving advice for beginners in starting out with brass kits to achieve model building skills in the media of brass. Example of kits on the Internet such as the Arvid L. Anderson hopper kits, challenging kits such as a Gilmaur model or even restoration or repairing older brass models. Recommending kit building prior to doing any scratch building in brass to learn methods, properties of the metal and tools used to construct rolling stock that are less complex models to build.
